Take your time exploring Beechworth's honey-coloured historic streets, cracking food and drink scene and Lake Sambell before making your way to the start of the Murray to Mountains Rail Trail to begin this cruisey, downhill pedal. Stop in at family-run, biodynamic Pennyweight Winery on your way out of town - the Gamay and Pennyweight Gold are locals favourites.
Take it at your own pace and stop in at the Everton Hotel for a hot meal and a warm welcome, grab a burger and a milkshake from the Everton General Store, or pack a picnic of local produce to enjoy when you reach Everton Station.
This downhill cruise is perfect for the little tackers or those more into the views than climbs - as long as you've got a car at the Everton end for a pick up, or pre-organise a shuttle back up the hill with The Bike Hire Company.
